How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with some water. Try to take it at the same time each day to help you remember.

Important

The maximum daily dose for regular use is one tablet.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Changes in blood test results (e.g., low sodium, high/low potassium, high cholesterol, high blood sugar, high uric acid), sugar in urine.
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness.
  • Headache.
  • Respiratory infection.
RARE
  • Low blood pressure, causing weakness or dizziness.
  • Loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, stomach irritation.
  • Skin rash, hives, or increased sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
  • Kidney problems, especially if you already have kidney issues or heart failure.
  • Sleep problems, depression, restlessness.
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet.
  • Temporary blurred vision.
  • Irregular heartbeat.
  • Breathing difficulties (including lung inflammation and fluid in the lungs).
  • Fever.
  • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), causing moderate to severe stomach pain.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Blood vessel damage, appearing as red or purple spots on the skin.
  • Decrease in red or white blood cells or platelets, causing tiredness, infections, fever, or easy bruising.
  • Severe skin rash that develops quickly, with peeling skin, blistering, and possibly mouth sores.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, sometimes with difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • Back, joint, or muscle pain.
  • Changes in liver function, including hepatitis (liver inflammation), possibly with tiredness, yellowing of skin/eyes, and flu-like symptoms.
  • Cough.
  • Nausea.
  • Acute respiratory distress syndrome (severe shortness of breath, fever, weakness, confusion).
  • Non-melanoma skin or lip cancer.
  • Sudden nearsightedness.
  • Vision impairment or eye pain due to high eye pressure (possible signs of fluid buildup in the eye or acute angle-closure glaucoma).
  • Systemic and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (an allergic disease causing fever, joint pain, and skin rash that may include redness, blisters, peeling, and hard lumps).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide medicines, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant (it's also best to avoid in early pregnancy).
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney problems or severe liver disease/bile duct blockage.
  • Do not use if you have persistently low blood potassium or high blood calcium levels.
  • Do not use if you have ever had gout, or if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren for high blood pressure.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had skin cancer or if you develop an unexpected skin lesion during treatment, as hydrochlorothiazide can increase the risk of certain skin and lip cancers. Protect your skin from sun and UV rays.
  • Seek urgent medical help if you experience severe shortness of breath or eye pain with vision changes after taking this medicine.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
