How to Use

Dosage

The usual amount is one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water, trying to take it around the same time every day to remember easily.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low sodium in your blood, which can cause weakness, tiredness, or muscle cramps.
  • High or low potassium in your blood, which can lead to tiredness, weakness, irregular heartbeats, or tingling.
  • Higher levels of cholesterol, sugar, or uric acid in your blood.
  • Sugar in your urine.
  • Feeling dizzy or lightheaded.
  • Headache.
  • A respiratory infection.
RARE
  • Low blood pressure, causing weakness or dizziness.
  • Loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, or upset stomach.
  • Skin rash, hives, or skin being more sensitive to sunlight.
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice). If this happens, see your doctor immediately.
  • Severe skin rash with peeling, blisters, or sores in your mouth.
  • Problems with how your kidneys work.
  • Trouble sleeping, feeling sad (depression), or feeling restless.
  • Tingling or numbness in your hands or feet.
  • Temporary blurry vision.
  • Sudden nearsightedness, or eye pain with high pressure in your eyes.
  • Irregular heartbeat.
  • Breathing difficulties, including lung infection or fluid in the lungs, or sudden severe breathing trouble.
  • Fever.
  • Stomach pain due to inflammation of the pancreas.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Red or purple spots on your skin from damaged blood vessels.
  • Fewer red or white blood cells or platelets, which can cause tiredness, infections, fever, or easy bruising.
  • Changes in liver function, including hepatitis (liver inflammation), which can cause tiredness, yellow skin/eyes, and flu-like symptoms.
  • Cough.
  • Feeling sick (nausea).
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Back, joint, or muscle pain.
  • A disease like lupus, which can cause fever, joint pain, and skin rash.
  • Skin and lip cancer (non-melanoma skin cancer).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to candesartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients, including sulfonamide medicines.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant (especially after 3 months) or trying to get pregnant.
  • Tell your doctor if you have serious kidney, liver, or heart problems.
  • Inform your doctor if you have very low potassium or very high calcium levels in your blood.
  • Let your doctor know if you have gout, or diabetes with kidney problems and are taking another blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.

  • This medicine might increase your risk of certain skin cancers. Protect your skin from the sun and UV light.
  • If you get blurry vision or eye pain, contact your doctor right away, as it could cause permanent vision loss.
  • This medicine can make you feel tired or dizzy. Do not drive or use machines if you feel this way.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
