How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose is 8 mg once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with water, with or without food. The tablet can be divided. Try to take your dose at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 32 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness/feeling light-headed
  • Headache
  • Respiratory infections
  • Low blood pressure, which can make you feel dizzy or light-headed
  • High potassium levels in the blood (can cause tiredness, weakness, irregular heartbeats, or tingling sensations)
  • Changes in kidney function, which can lead to kidney failure in rare cases
RARE
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat
  • Reduction in red or white blood cells (may cause tiredness, infection, or fever)
  • Skin rashes, raised rashes (hives)
  • Itching
  • Back, joint, and muscle pain
  • Changes in liver function, including liver inflammation (hepatitis) (may cause tiredness, yellowing of skin and eyes, or flu-like symptoms)
  • Cough
  • Nausea
  • Low sodium levels in the blood (can cause weakness, lack of energy, or muscle cramps)
  • Intestinal angioedema: swelling in the intestines with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Diarrhea

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Candesarstad if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take Candesarstad if you are more than 3 months pregnant (it is also best to avoid in early pregnancy).
  • Do not take Candesarstad if you have severe liver disease or bile duct obstruction (problems with bile flow).
  • Do not give Candesarstad to children under 1 year of age.
  • Do not take Candesarstad if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure-lowering medicine containing aliskiren.

  • Stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical help if you develop a severe allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or severe itching with a rash.
