How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water, preferably at the same time each day. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Changes in blood test results (e.g., changes in sodium, potassium, cholesterol, sugar, or uric acid levels).
  • Sugar in the urine.
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or weakness.
  • Headache.
  • Respiratory infection.
RARE
  • Low blood pressure, causing dizziness or fainting.
  • Loss of appetite, constipation, stomach upset.
  • Skin rash, hives, or skin sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).
  • Changes in kidney function.
  • Sleep problems, depression, restlessness.
  • Tingling or numbness in arms or legs.
  • Temporary blurred vision.
  • Irregular heartbeat.
  • Breathing difficulties (including lung inflammation and fluid in the lungs).
  • Fever.
  • Inflammation of the pancreas, causing moderate to severe stomach pain.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Damage to blood vessels, causing red or purple spots on the skin.
  • Reduced number of red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets.
  • Severe rash that develops quickly, with skin peeling or blisters, possibly in the mouth.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat.
  • Itching.
  • Back, joint, and muscle pain.
  • Changes in liver function, including hepatitis (tiredness, yellow skin/eyes, flu-like symptoms).
  • Cough.
  • Nausea.
  • Acute respiratory distress (severe shortness of breath, fever, weakness, confusion).
  • Swelling in the intestines (abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).
  • Sudden nearsightedness.
  • Vision loss or eye pain due to high eye pressure.
  • Systemic and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (allergic disease with fever, joint pain, rash).
  • Diarrhea.
  • Skin and lip cancer (non-melanoma).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to sulfonamide medicines.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant (it's also best to avoid during early pregnancy).
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease or blocked bile ducts.
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney disease.

  • Do not take if you have ever had gout.
  • Do not take if you have persistently low potassium or high calcium levels in your blood.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren.
  • Tell your doctor if you experience vision loss or eye pain; these could be serious.
  • Protect your skin from the sun; this medicine can increase the risk of skin cancer.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you develop severe shortness of breath or breathing difficulties after taking this medicine.
