Candecam contains two medicines that lower high blood pressure in adults who are already taking these medicines separately.

How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day. Do not take with grapefruit juice.

Important

The most you should take is one tablet per day. Taking more can make your blood pressure drop too low.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness or feeling light-headed.
  • Headache or feeling sleepy.
  • Respiratory infection.
  • Low blood pressure, which might make you feel weak or dizzy.
  • Changes in blood tests, like high potassium (causing tiredness, weakness, irregular heartbeat, or tingling) or kidney problems.
  • Swelling in ankles or other body parts due to fluid build-up.
  • Pounding or racing heart (palpitations) or flushing.
  • Stomach pain, nausea, or changes in how often you go to the bathroom (diarrhea, constipation, indigestion).
  • Feeling very tired or weak.
  • Vision problems, like seeing double.
  • Muscle cramps.
RARE
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Severe skin reactions like rashes, itching, blisters, or peeling skin.
  • Heart attack or unusual heartbeat.
  • Inflammation of the pancreas, causing bad stomach and back pain and making you feel very ill.
  • Fewer red or white blood cells, leading to tiredness, infections, fever, easy bruising, or bleeding.
  • Back, joint, or muscle pain.
  • Liver problems like inflammation (hepatitis), yellow skin/eyes, high liver enzyme levels, or feeling tired and flu-like.
  • Cough.
  • Nausea, dry mouth, or vomiting.
  • Changes in blood tests like low sodium, causing weakness or muscle cramps.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Mood changes, anxiety, depression, or trouble sleeping.
  • Trembling, changes in taste, or fainting.
  • Numbness or tingling in arms/legs, or not being able to feel pain.
  • Ringing in the ears.
  • Sneezing/runny nose from nasal inflammation.
  • Hair loss, increased sweating, itchy skin, red skin patches, or skin color changes.
  • Problems with urination, like needing to go more often at night or more frequently overall.
  • Trouble getting an erection, or pain/swelling in male breast tissue.
  • General pain or feeling unwell.
  • Weight gain or loss.
  • Confusion.
  • High blood sugar levels.
  • Nerve problems causing weakness, tingling, or numbness.
  • Swollen gums.
  • Swollen stomach due to stomach lining inflammation (gastritis).
  • Increased muscle stiffness or tension.
  • Inflammation of blood vessels, often with a skin rash.
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Movement issues like trembling, stiff posture, mask-like face, slow movements, or an unbalanced, shuffling walk.

Important Warnings

  • Seek immediate medical help if you have sudden wheezing, chest pain, shortness of breath, or trouble breathing. Also, get help if you have swelling of your eyelids, face, or lips; swelling of your tongue or throat that makes it hard to breathe; or severe skin reactions like rashes, itching, blistering, or peeling skin.
  • Get help right away if you have a heart attack or an unusual heartbeat.
  • Get help right away for inflammation of the pancreas, which causes severe stomach pain and makes you feel very unwell.
  • Candesartan can lower your white blood cell count. This can make you tired or more likely to get infections and fever. Contact your doctor if this happens.
