Candecam contains two medicines, candesartan cilexetil and amlodipine, both of which help lower high blood pressure.

How to Use
Dosage
Take one Candecam tablet once a day.
Method
Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day. Do not take Candecam with grapefruit juice.
Important
The maximum daily dose is one Candecam tablet per day.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Dizziness, lightheadedness, or drowsiness (especially when starting treatment)
- •Headache
- •Tiredness or weakness
- •Swelling, especially in ankles, or fluid retention in the body
- •Abdominal pain or upset stomach (indigestion)
- •Nausea
- •Diarrhea or constipation; general changes in bowel habits
- •Palpitations (feeling your heart beat faster)
- •Flushing (redness and warmth in face/body)
- •Vision problems or seeing double
- •Muscle cramps
- •Cold-like symptoms or a respiratory infection
- •Low blood pressure, which might make you feel faint or dizzy
- •Tingling sensation
- •Irregular heartbeat
RARE
- •Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (which can make it hard to breathe)
- •Feeling very tired, getting infections, or fever (due to a drop in white blood cells)
- •Skin reactions like rash, hives, severe itching, or unusual skin color changes; hair loss or increased sweating; sensitivity to sunlight
- •Body aches including back, joint, or muscle pain, or increased muscle stiffness
- •Vomiting or severe stomach/abdominal pain (due to swelling in the intestines or stomach)
- •Liver problems (like hepatitis), yellow skin or eyes, or flu-like symptoms
- •Persistent cough or dry mouth
- •Extreme weakness, muscle cramps, or nerve problems causing numbness or tingling
- •Mood changes, anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping (insomnia), confusion, or fainting
- •Tremor, changes in taste, or ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
- •Runny nose or sneezing
- •Problems with urination (like needing to go more often, especially at night)
- •Erectile dysfunction (difficulty getting/keeping an erection) or breast pain/enlargement in men
- •Weight changes (gain or loss)
- •Easy bruising or bleeding (due to low platelet count)
- •High blood sugar
- •Swollen gums
- •Inflammation of blood vessels (often with a skin rash)
- •Symptoms like shaking, stiff posture, slow movements, or an unbalanced walk (Parkinsonism-like)
Important Warnings
- Do not take if you are allergic to candesartan cilexetil, amlodipine, similar medicines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
- Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant; avoid in early pregnancy too.
- Do not take if you have severe liver disease or a blocked bile duct.
- Do not give this medicine to children under 1 year old.
- Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney issues and are also taking aliskiren for blood pressure.

- Get medical help right away if you have a heart attack or an unusual heartbeat.
- Get medical help right away if you have severe stomach and back pain with feeling very unwell, as this could be an inflamed pancreas.
- Candecam can lower your white blood cell count, making you tired or prone to infections and fever. Tell your doctor if this happens.
