How to Use

Dosage

The recommended starting dose is 10 mg, followed by a dose of 10-30 mg every 4-6 hours as needed.

Method

A doctor or nurse will give you this medicine as an injection into a muscle or a vein.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 90 mg.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ketorolac trometamol or other similar pain medications (NSAIDs).
  • Do not use if you have or have had stomach ulcers, bleeding in your stomach or intestines, or other severe stomach problems.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver or heart failure, or moderate to severe kidney problems.
  • Do not use if you have a low platelet count, a bleeding disorder, are taking blood thinners (like warfarin or heparin), or have an increased risk of bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have a history of asthma or allergic reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs.

  • Do not use if you are under 16 years old.
  • Do not use during the last 3 months of pregnancy, during labor, or while breastfeeding.
  • Do not use if you are receiving spinal anesthesia (epidural or intrathecal), due to the alcohol content in Caloket.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking specific medicines like lithium (for mood), pentoxifylline (for blood circulation), probenecid (for gout), or other NSAIDs, as Caloket might interact with them.
