How to Use

Dosage

One chewable tablet.

Method

Take twice a day. The tablet can be chewed or sucked.

Important

The maximum daily dose is two tablets, providing 1000 mg of calcium and 800 IU of vitamin D3.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Too much calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) if high doses are used.
  • Too much calcium in the urine (hypercalciuria) if high doses are used.
  • Constipation.
  • Upset stomach (indigestion).
  • Gas.
  • Feeling sick (nausea).
  • Stomach pain.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Itching.
  • Rash.
  • Hives (itchy red bumps on skin).
  • Milk-alkali syndrome (Burnett's syndrome), usually only if large amounts of calcium have been taken. Symptoms include frequent urination, headache, loss of appetite, feeling or being sick, unusual tiredness or weakness, increased blood calcium levels, and kidney failure.
  • Severe swelling of the face, tongue, or lips (angioedema).
  • Swelling of the throat.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney disease.
  • Do not use if you have too much calcium in your blood or urine.
  • Do not use if you have kidney stones.
  • Do not use if you have too much vitamin D in your blood.

  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are on long-term treatment, especially if you are taking water pills (for high blood pressure or swelling) or heart medicines (for heart conditions).
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you show signs of poor kidney function or have a high risk of kidney stones.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have sarcoidosis (a disorder that can increase vitamin D levels in the body).
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have osteoporosis and are unable to move around.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other vitamin D products. Other calcium and vitamin D products should only be used under strict medical supervision.
