How to Use

Dosage

One tablet twice daily.

Method

Chew or suck the tablets.

Important

Do not take more than two tablets per day unless your doctor tells you to.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Too much calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalciuria), especially with high doses.
RARE
  • Constipation, upset stomach, gas, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea.
  • Itching, rash, and hives.
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, tongue, lips, or throat (contact a doctor immediately).
RARE
  • Milk-alkali syndrome (symptoms include frequent urination, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, weakness, high blood calcium, and kidney problems).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney problems.
  • Do not use if you have too much calcium in your blood or urine.
  • Do not use if you have kidney stones.
  • Do not use if you have too much vitamin D in your blood.

  • Talk to your doctor if you take this medicine for a long time, especially if you also use diuretics (for high blood pressure or swelling) or medicines for heart conditions (cardiac glycosides).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have reduced kidney function.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have sarcoidosis (an immune system disorder that can increase vitamin D levels).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have osteoporosis and cannot move.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking other vitamin D products. You should only use other calcium and vitamin D products at the same time under strict medical supervision.
  • This medicine is not for use in children.
