How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose based on your body surface area.

Method

A doctor or nurse will give you Cabazitaxel Stada as an intravenous drip in a hospital over about one hour, and you will also take daily allergy and corticosteroid medicines by mouth.

Important

You will usually receive one infusion every three weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decreased red blood cells (anemia) or white blood cells (needed to fight infections)
  • Decreased platelet count (leading to increased bleeding risk)
  • Decreased appetite (anorexia)
  • Stomach problems like feeling sick (nausea), vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Back pain
  • Blood in urine
  • Tiredness, weakness, or lack of energy
  • Changes in taste
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cough
  • Abdominal pain
  • Temporary hair loss (hair growth usually returns to normal)
  • Joint pain
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Low white blood cell count with fever and infection
  • Numbness, tingling, or burning sensation in hands or feet, or decreased sensation
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Increased or decreased blood pressure
  • Abdominal discomfort, heartburn, or burping
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Muscle twitching
  • Painful or urgent urination
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Kidney disease or problems
  • Sores in the mouth or on the lips
  • Infections or risk of infection
  • High blood sugar
  • Insomnia
  • Confusion
  • Restlessness
  • Balance problems
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Blood clot in a leg or lung
  • Feeling of skin flushing
  • Pain in mouth or throat
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Muscle aches, soreness, weakness, or pain
  • Swelling of feet or lower legs
  • Chills
  • Nail disorder (changes in nail color; nails may fall off)
RARE
  • Low blood potassium
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Hot flashes
  • Skin redness
  • Bladder inflammation that may occur if the bladder was previously exposed to radiation therapy (radiation recall cystitis)
  • Interstitial lung disease (lung inflammation causing cough and breathing difficulties)

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have a fever, as Cabazitaxel Stada can lower your white blood cell count, increasing infection risk.
  • Inform your doctor if you have had allergies, as Cabazitaxel Stada can cause severe allergic reactions.
  • Contact your doctor if you have severe or long-lasting diarrhea, feel sick, or vomit, as this can lead to severe dehydration.
  • Tell your doctor if your hands or feet feel numb, tingly, burning, or have reduced sensation.
  • Seek medical attention for intestinal bleeding, changes in stool color, or stomach pain, especially if severe.
