How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will give you the right dose; for acute pain, the recommended dose is usually one ampoule several times a day.

Method

Given as an injection into a muscle, under the skin, or slowly into a vein.

Important

The maximum daily dose must not exceed 100 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Difficulty focusing your eyes (blurry vision).
  • Fast heartbeat.
  • Dizziness.
  • Dry mouth.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock).
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Skin reactions (hives, rash, redness, itching, hypersensitivity).
  • Flushing (red face or skin).
  • Enlarged pupils.
  • Increased pressure inside the eye.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Unusual sweating.
  • Difficulty urinating.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to hyoscine butylbromide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have untreated narrow-angle glaucoma (an eye disease with high pressure in the eye).
  • Do not use if you have an enlarged prostate with difficulty urinating.
  • Do not use if you have narrowing of the digestive tract (stenosis), bowel obstruction, or a very enlarged colon (megacolon).
  • Do not use if you have a fast heart rate or a muscle weakness condition called myasthenia gravis.

  • If you are taking blood thinners, the injection must not be given into a muscle as it can cause bruising or bleeding.
  • If you experience eye pain, red eyes, or blurred vision after the injection, contact a doctor immediately.
  • This medicine may temporarily worsen your ability to see at different distances. Do not drive or use machines until your vision is back to normal.
  • If you have severe, unexplained abdominal pain that continues or worsens, or if it comes with fever, nausea, vomiting, changes in bowel movements, low blood pressure, or blood in your stool, contact a doctor immediately.
  • Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Do not use this medicine daily for long periods without finding out the cause of your abdominal pain.
