How to Use

Dosage

Adults: 400 mg 3–4 times a day. Children (under 12 years): 20–40 mg/kg divided into 3–4 doses.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not chew. You can take it with food to reduce stomach upset.

Important

Adults: Maximum 3200 mg per day. Children (under 12 years): Maximum 10 mg/kg per dose, not for children weighing less than 40 kg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling tired or dizzy, headache, ringing in your ears, heartburn or stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea.
  • Bruising easily or nosebleeds, swelling in your arms or legs, worsening heart problems (with swelling or trouble breathing).
  • Skin rash or itching (hives).
RARE
  • Feeling anxious, confused, or having nightmares; problems with vision, hearing, or tingling skin.
  • Stomach or mouth sores, bleeding in your gut (black or bloody stools).
  • Lower numbers of blood cells, kidney or liver problems, worsening heart or lung conditions (like asthma).
  • Severe skin reactions with peeling, blisters, or sensitivity to sunlight; hair loss.
  • Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing, chest pain).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have stomach or duodenal ulcers, or have had them before, or if you have had bleeding or a perforation in your digestive tract.
  • Stop immediately and contact a doctor if you get chest pain, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or throat.
  • Stop immediately and contact a doctor if you get severe skin reactions like blisters, skin peeling, or a widespread rash with fever.
  • Do not use if you have severe heart failure or a bleeding disorder, or if you are taking blood thinners.

  • Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy.
  • Do not use if you have asthma and are allergic to aspirin or other NSAID painkillers.
  • Stop immediately and contact a doctor if you experience sudden, severe stomach pain or vomiting blood.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. For short-term use only. Consider adverse renal effect in chronic kidney disease. Do not use in severe renal impairment. Increases swelling, worsens renal and heart failure and causes cardiovascular events. Increases risk of bleeding, especially in the gastrointestinal tract.
