How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose for adults and young people over 15 is two Buprenorphine/Naloxone Viatris 2 mg/0.5 mg tablets.

Method

Place the tablets under your tongue once a day. Let them dissolve completely, which takes 5-10 minutes. Do not chew or swallow the tablets, and do not eat or drink until they are fully dissolved.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 24 mg of buprenorphine.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to buprenorphine, naloxone, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe breathing problems or severe liver problems.
  • Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can increase drowsiness and the risk of serious breathing problems.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are also taking naltrexone or nalmefene for alcohol or opioid dependence, as it can cause sudden withdrawal symptoms.
  • If you are addicted to opioids, wait at least 6 hours after your last short-acting opioid (like heroin) or 24 hours after your last long-acting opioid (like methadone) before taking the first dose to avoid withdrawal.

  • This medicine can be dangerous or even deadly if taken by accident by children or people who are not addicted to opioids. Keep it out of reach and sight of children, and in a secure place to prevent theft.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without your doctor's approval, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you experience swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or severe hives/rash, as these could be signs of a life-threatening allergic reaction.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you experience severe tiredness, itching, and yellowing of your skin or eyes, as these could be signs of liver damage.
  • Be careful when driving or operating machinery, as this medicine can make you drowsy, dizzy, and impair your thinking, especially during the first few weeks or if you drink alcohol.
