How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose for adults and adolescents over 15 is 1-2 tablets (2 mg/0.5 mg) per day, with additional doses given on the first day if needed.

Method

Take the medicine once a day by placing the tablets under your tongue. Let them dissolve completely (about 5-10 minutes) without chewing or swallowing. Do not eat or drink until the tablets have fully dissolved.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 24 mg buprenorphine.

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to buprenorphine, naloxone, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you have severe breathing problems.
  • If you have severe liver problems.
  • If you are intoxicated by alcohol or have tremors, sweating, anxiety, confusion, or hallucinations due to alcohol.
  • If you are taking naltrexone or nalmefene for alcohol or opioid dependence treatment.

  • Do not give this medicine to others. It can cause death or harm them.
  • This medicine can cause severe, possibly fatal, breathing difficulties, especially in children or non-dependent individuals who take it accidentally or intentionally.
  • If you experience breathing pauses during sleep, wake up at night due to shortness of breath, or are very sleepy during the day, contact your doctor.
  • This medicine can cause dependence.
  • The medicine can cause withdrawal symptoms if taken too soon after other opioids (less than 6 hours after short-acting opioids or less than 24 hours after long-acting opioids).
  • Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms.
  • Tell your doctor about liver problems before starting treatment; your doctor may monitor your liver with blood tests.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or severe rash (signs of a life-threatening allergic reaction). Seek immediate medical help.
  • Severe tiredness, lack of coordination, blurred vision, slurred speech, impaired thinking, or unusually slow breathing. Seek immediate medical help.
  • Very severe tiredness, itching, and yellowing of the skin or eyes (may be signs of liver damage).
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations).
