How to Use

Dosage

Apply one patch to your skin and change it every seven days, preferably at the same time of day.

Method

Choose a clean, dry, hairless, and non-irritated skin area (like the outer upper arm, upper chest, or upper back). Cut hair with scissors, do not shave. Press the patch firmly onto the skin for 30 seconds.

Important

Do not use more than two patches at the same time, with a maximum total dose of 40 micrograms per hour.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
  • Constipation, feeling sick or being sick.
  • Itching skin; rash, redness, inflammation, or swelling at the patch site.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Confusion, depression, anxiety, trouble sleeping, nervousness, tremor.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Stomach pain or discomfort, diarrhea, indigestion, dry mouth.
  • Sweating, skin rash, sudden skin eruption.
  • Tiredness, unusual weakness, muscle weakness, swelling of hands, ankles, or feet.
RARE
  • Restlessness, agitation, strong feeling of well-being, hallucinations, nightmares, decreased sex drive, aggression.
  • Taste changes, speech problems, decreased pain or touch sensitivity, tingling or numbness.
  • Memory loss, migraine, fainting, trouble concentrating or coordinating movements.
  • Dry eyes, blurred vision.
  • Ringing or buzzing in ears, feeling dizzy or spinning.
  • High or low blood pressure, chest pain, fast or irregular heartbeat.
  • Cough, hiccups, wheezing.
  • Flatulence.
  • Weight loss.
  • Dry skin.
  • Muscle cramps, aches, and pains.
  • Difficulty starting urination, difficulty completely emptying bladder, urinary incontinence.
  • Fever.
  • Increased risk of accidents (e.g., falls).
  • Withdrawal symptoms like agitation, anxiety, sweating, or tremor when stopping Buprefarm.
  • Contact dermatitis (skin rash with inflammation and burning sensation).
  • Angina (severe chest pain due to heart problems).
  • Psychotic disorder.
  • Balance problems.
  • Swelling of eyelids or face, constricted pupils.
  • Difficulty breathing, worsening asthma, hyperventilation.
  • Fainting sensation, especially when standing up.
  • Difficulty swallowing.
  • Local allergic reaction with clear swelling (treatment should be stopped).
  • Swelling and irritation inside the nose.
  • Decreased erection, impaired sexual function.
  • Flu-like symptoms.
  • Skin redness.
  • Dehydration.
  • Muscle twitching.
  • Mood swings.
  • Ear pain.
  • Blisters.
  • Sleep-related breathing problems (sleep apnea).
  • Seizures or convulsions.
  • Inflammation of the intestinal wall (symptoms may include fever, vomiting, and stomach pain).
  • Stomach pain or discomfort due to colic.
  • Personality changes.
  • Withdrawal symptoms in babies born to mothers who took buprenorphine during pregnancy (e.g., high-pitched crying, irritability, tremors, feeding difficulties, sweating, and not gaining weight).
  • Skin discoloration.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to buprenorphine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe breathing problems.
  • Do not use if you have drug dependence or a history of drug or alcohol misuse, or if you experience withdrawal symptoms when stopping alcohol. This medicine is not for treating drug withdrawal.
  • Do not use if you are taking or have taken certain depression medicines called MAOIs in the last two weeks.
  • Do not use if you have myasthenia gravis (a muscle weakness condition).

  • Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine can make you dizzy or sleepy, affecting your ability to drive or use machines. Do not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours after removing the patch.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of seizures, sleep apnea, severe head injury, severe liver problems, or if you have a high fever, as these conditions might affect how the medicine works or cause other problems.
