RARE
  • Back pain
  • Itching, numbness, tingling or burning skin
  • Central nervous system symptoms (like numbness, tingling, muscle weakness or sensory changes)
  • Sudden heart stop (cardiac arrest)
  • Slow and shallow breathing (respiratory depression)
  • Severe allergic reaction (e.g., difficulty breathing, swelling of lips/tongue, low blood pressure)
  • Unexpected spinal block (temporary loss of sensation or movement in lower body, possibly loss of consciousness)
  • Paralysis (in both legs or lower body)
  • Nerve inflammation (causing pain or sensory issues)
  • Inflammation of the membrane around the spinal cord (causing back pain, leg pain, numbness or weakness)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bupivacaine or similar local anesthetics.
  • Tell your doctor if you have an active brain or spinal cord disease, such as meningitis, polio, recent injury, or tumors.
  • Inform your doctor if you have blood poisoning, a skin infection near the injection site, or severe headache from bleeding in the head.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe heart problems, very low blood pressure, or blood clotting issues.
  • Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, are elderly, pregnant (especially late stage), or have chronic back pain.
