How to Use

Dosage

One ampoule several times a day for acute pain.

Method

Given as an injection into a muscle, under the skin, or slowly into a vein by a doctor or nurse.

Important

The daily dose should not exceed 100 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Difficulty adjusting focus (blurry vision).
  • Increased heart rate (fast heartbeat).
  • Dizziness.
  • Dry mouth.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions including itching, redness and swelling of skin or mucous membranes, difficulty breathing or swallowing, cough, dizziness, fainting, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
  • Skin rash.
  • Hives.
  • Eczema.
  • Skin redness.
  • Itching.
  • Hypersensitivity (general allergic reaction).
  • Flushing (red face).
  • Dilated pupils (large pupils).
  • High blood pressure.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Abnormal sweating.
  • Difficulty urinating.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Bumacor if you are allergic to hyoscine butylbromide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have an untreated eye condition called narrow-angle glaucoma (high pressure in the eye).
  • Do not use if you have an enlarged prostate with difficulty emptying your bladder.
  • Do not use if you have a narrowing of the digestive tract (stenosis), a blocked or twisted bowel, or a very enlarged colon (megacolon).
  • Do not use if you have a very fast heartbeat (tachycardia) or a muscle weakness condition called myasthenia gravis.

  • If you are taking blood thinners, the injection must not be given into a muscle because of the risk of severe bleeding.
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you experience eye pain, red eyes, or blurred vision after the injection, as this could be a sign of glaucoma.
  • Bumacor can reduce your body's ability to sweat, so contact a doctor if you get a fever.
  • Your vision may temporarily become blurry. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision is back to normal.
  • If severe, unexplained stomach pain continues or gets worse, or if it comes with fever, nausea, vomiting, changes in bowel function, tenderness, low blood pressure, fainting, or blood in stools, contact a doctor immediately.
  • If you have heart or vascular disease, treatment should be monitored to ensure your condition does not worsen.
  • Do not use Bumacor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Bumacor should not be used daily or for long periods without finding the cause of stomach pain.
