How to Use

Dosage

Adults over 18 years and adolescents 12–17 years usually take 1 or 2 inhalations twice a day; children 6–11 years take 2 inhalations twice a day.

Method

Shake the inhaler 3-5 times, click once until you hear a sound, then inhale deeply. Rinse your mouth with water after each dose.

Important

Do not take more than 12 inhalations in a 24-hour period.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Palpitations (feeling your heartbeat), tremors, or shaking, which usually lessen with continued use.
  • Oral thrush (a fungal infection in the mouth), especially if you don't rinse your mouth after your dose.
  • Mild throat irritation, coughing, hoarseness.
  • Headache.
  • Restlessness, nervousness, agitation.
  • Sleep disturbances.
  • Dizziness.
  • Nausea.
  • Fast heart rate.
  • Skin bruising.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Blurred vision.
RARE
  • Rash, itching.
  • Bronchospasm (sudden wheezing or shortness of breath).
  • Low blood potassium levels.
  • Irregular heartbeat.
  • Depression.
  • Behavioral changes, especially in children.
  • Chest pain or tightness.
  • Increased blood sugar levels.
  • Taste changes, such as an unpleasant taste.
  • Blood pressure changes.
  • Bone density changes (thinning of bones).
  • Cataracts (clouding of the eye's lens).
  • Glaucoma (increased eye pressure).
  • Slowed growth in children and adolescents.
  • Effects on adrenal glands.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to budesonide, formoterol, or lactose.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have diabetes, lung infection, high blood pressure, heart problems, thyroid or adrenal gland issues, low potassium, or severe liver disease.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other sight problems.
  • Rinse your mouth with water after each dose to prevent oral yeast infections.
  • Stop using the medicine immediately and contact a doctor if you experience face swelling, hives with breathing difficulties, sudden dizziness, or sudden wheezing or shortness of breath after use.
