How to Use

Dosage

The typical daily dose is 0.5-2 mg, usually divided into two doses.

Method

This medicine is inhaled using a nebulizer, which turns it into a fine mist for you to breathe in through a mouthpiece or face mask.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 8 mg.

Possible Side Effects

  • Soreness or irritation in the mouth (including oral thrush), throat irritation, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, cough.

  • Pneumonia (lung infection) in patients with COPD (symptoms: fever, chills, increased mucus, changes in mucus color, increased cough, increased breathing difficulties).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to budesonide or any other ingredient.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had tuberculosis, liver disease, or respiratory infections (fungal, viral, or other).
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other vision problems.
  • This medicine is not for sudden breathing difficulties; use your fast-acting inhaler for those.
  • Stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience wheezing or shortness of breath right after taking it.

  • Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each dose to reduce the risk of oral thrush and hoarseness.
  • If you use a face mask, wash your face immediately after each use to prevent skin irritation.
  • Long-term use in children may slow down their growth, so regular check-ups with a doctor are important.
  • Do not use more than your doctor prescribed, as very high doses over time can lead to serious side effects.
