How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the exact dose. The typical dose is 0.25-2 mg, taken twice a day, but this varies based on your age and condition.

Method

This medicine is inhaled using a nebulizer and compressor. Carefully follow the nebulizer instructions. After each use, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out. If you use a face mask, wash your face as well.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults and adolescents is 4 mg. For children under 12, the maximum dose is 2 mg, used only for short periods in severe asthma.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Oral thrush (a fungal infection in the mouth). You can help prevent this by rinsing your mouth with water after using Budesonide Stada.
  • Mild sore throat, cough, and hoarse voice.
  • Lung inflammation (pneumonia) in patients with COPD. Tell your doctor if you experience fever, chills, increased mucus production or change in color, increased cough, or increased breathing difficulties, as these can be signs of lung infection.
RARE
  • Blurred vision, cataract (clouding of the lens in the eye).
  • Anxiety, depression, tremors, muscle cramps, osteoporosis (with long-term use).
  • Allergic reactions such as facial swelling (especially around the mouth, lips, tongue, eyes, ears), itching, skin rash or irritation (contact dermatitis), hives, and narrowing of the airways (bronchospasm). This might mean you've had an allergic reaction.
  • Sudden wheezing after inhaling the medicine.
  • Rash on the face after using a face mask. To prevent this, always wash your face after using the mask.
  • Aggression, restlessness, nervousness, anxiety, or irritability. These side effects are more likely to occur in children.
  • Bruising.
  • Loss of voice or difficulty speaking.
  • Slowed growth in children and adolescents.
  • Effects on the adrenal glands (small glands above the kidneys).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Budesonide Stada if you are allergic to budesonide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Contact your doctor right away if your breathing gets worse or if you often wake up at night with asthma symptoms.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you feel chest tightness in the mornings or if it lasts longer than usual.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you experience blurred vision or other vision problems.
  • Continue using Budesonide Stada, but contact your doctor as soon as possible if you become short of breath or wheeze, as you may need additional treatment.

  • Before using Budesonide Stada, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have a lung infection, a cold, or any other respiratory infection.
  • Before using Budesonide Stada, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have liver problems.
  • For children and adolescents on long-term treatment with inhaled corticosteroids, regular growth monitoring is recommended.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • If you become pregnant while using Budesonide Stada, do not stop taking it, but contact your doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
  • Specifically tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking steroid medicines, medicines for fungal infections (like itraconazole or ketoconazole), or HIV medicines (like ritonavir, nelfinavir, or cobicistat).
