How to Use

Dosage

Usually 1-2 doses in the morning and evening, or 1-2 doses once daily in the evening. Your doctor will tell you the right dose.

Method

Take the medicine by breathing the powder in through the mouthpiece. Remember to shake, load, and then inhale. Rinse your mouth with water after each dose.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. The typical maximum is 4 doses per day (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening), but always follow your doctor's instructions.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Sore throat, difficulty swallowing, cough, fungal infection in the mouth or throat (thrush).
RARE
  • Anxiety, depression, cataracts (eye disease), blurred vision, muscle cramps, tremor.
  • Changes in hormone levels (too much or too little cortisol), adrenal gland problems, rash, itching, bruising, hoarseness, restlessness, nervousness. Slowed growth in children, behavior changes in children.
  • Severe allergic reaction, which may include: itching, rash, red skin, swelling of the face, lips or throat, wheezing, drop in blood pressure, or loss of consciousness. If this happens, stop using the medicine and seek immediate medical help.
  • Shortness of breath or wheezing right after taking a dose. If this happens, stop using the medicine, use your fast-acting asthma reliever, and seek immediate medical help.
  • Glaucoma (green cataract), bone loss (bones become weak).
  • Sleep problems, aggression, hyperactivity, and irritability (especially in children).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to budesonide or lactose (which contains milk proteins).
  • Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis, infections (bacteria, virus, fungi) in your mouth or lungs, or severe liver disease.
  • Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each dose to prevent fungal infections.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
  • This medicine does not stop an asthma attack that has already started. Always carry your fast-acting asthma reliever medicine with you.

  • If you regularly use a fast-acting asthma medicine, take it before Budesonid Easyhaler.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if your asthma symptoms worsen, you need to use your fast-acting asthma medicine more often, or it no longer helps as well.
  • If you take too much medicine, contact your doctor or a poison control center immediately.
  • Do not stop using the medicine without asking your doctor first, as your asthma may get worse.
  • Contact your doctor if your vision becomes blurred or you have other vision problems.
