How to Use

Dosage

Usually 1-2 doses are inhaled morning and evening, or once daily in the evening, as instructed by your doctor.

Method

Inhale the powder into your lungs through the inhaler mouthpiece. Remember to rinse your mouth with water after each dose to prevent fungal infections.

Important

Do not exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor; your doctor will decide the right maximum dose for you.

  • Glaucoma (increased eye pressure)
  • Reduced bone mineral density (weak bones)
  • Sleep problems
  • Aggression
  • Increased motor activity (difficulty staying still), most often in children
  • Irritability, most often in children

Important Warnings

  • This medicine does not stop an asthma attack that has already started; always carry a quick-acting rescue inhaler.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to budesonide or lactose (which contains small amounts of milk protein).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have lung tuberculosis, untreated bacterial, viral, or fungal infections in your mouth, airways, or lungs, or severe liver disease.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience vision problems, such as blurred vision.
  • Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if your asthma worsens (increased wheezing or shortness of breath, needing your rescue inhaler more often, or if it doesn't help as much as before).
  • Stop using the medicine and seek immediate medical help if you have a severe allergic reaction (itching, rash, facial swelling, wheezing, or loss of consciousness).
  • If your breathing gets worse right after taking a dose (increased wheezing or shortness of breath), stop using the medicine, use your quick-acting rescue inhaler, and seek immediate medical help.
