How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you your daily dose, which is typically between 25-100 mg taken twice a day for adults.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You can take them with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose for adults is 200 mg (100 mg taken twice a day), but this may be lower if you have liver problems.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling sleepy or dizzy.
  • Flu-like symptoms.
  • Feeling very tired (exhaustion).
  • A spinning sensation (vertigo).
  • Nausea, vomiting, and constipation.
  • Depression, anxiety, trouble sleeping, and irritability.
  • Nose and throat infections (like a cold) and cough.
  • Decreased appetite.
  • Restlessness and hyperactivity (in children).
RARE
  • Allergic reactions.
  • Abnormal thoughts, psychosis, aggression, and nervous agitation.
  • Decrease in white blood cells (neutropenia), seen in blood tests.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to brivaracetam, similar medicines, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you notice severe skin reactions like a widespread rash, blisters, or peeling skin (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome), stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical help.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide, contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may increase the medicine's negative effects.

  • The tablets contain lactose. If you are intolerant to certain sugars, talk to your doctor.
