How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor will tell you the right amount to take, usually twice a day.
Method
Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water, with or without food.
Important
Do not take more than your doctor prescribes; for most adults, this is generally up to 200 mg per day.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Feeling sleepy or dizzy.
- •Feeling very tired.
- •Flu-like illness, nose and throat infections, cough.
- •Upset stomach (nausea, vomiting), constipation, decreased appetite.
- •Feeling down (depression), worried (anxiety), restless, or having trouble sleeping.
- •Seizures or a spinning sensation (vertigo).
- •In children: being restless or overly active.
RARE
- •Allergic reactions.
- •Strange thoughts or losing touch with reality, aggressive behavior, feeling very agitated.
- •Thoughts of harming yourself or suicide attempts (tell your doctor right away).
- •A drop in certain white blood cells (shown in blood tests).
- •A severe, widespread rash with blisters and peeling skin (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
Important Warnings
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to brivaracetam or similar medicines.
- Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you get a severe skin rash with blisters or peeling.
- If you have thoughts of harming yourself, tell your doctor immediately.
- Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as your dose may need to be changed.
- This medicine is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
