How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the right amount to take, usually twice a day.

Method

Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water, with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than your doctor prescribes; for most adults, this is generally up to 200 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling sleepy or dizzy.
  • Feeling very tired.
  • Flu-like illness, nose and throat infections, cough.
  • Upset stomach (nausea, vomiting), constipation, decreased appetite.
  • Feeling down (depression), worried (anxiety), restless, or having trouble sleeping.
  • Seizures or a spinning sensation (vertigo).
  • In children: being restless or overly active.
RARE
  • Allergic reactions.
  • Strange thoughts or losing touch with reality, aggressive behavior, feeling very agitated.
  • Thoughts of harming yourself or suicide attempts (tell your doctor right away).
  • A drop in certain white blood cells (shown in blood tests).
  • A severe, widespread rash with blisters and peeling skin (like Stevens-Johnson syndrome).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to brivaracetam or similar medicines.
  • Stop taking and see a doctor right away if you get a severe skin rash with blisters or peeling.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself, tell your doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as your dose may need to be changed.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.

  • It's best not to drink alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can make side effects worse.
  • This medicine is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Discuss with your doctor.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy or dizzy. Do not drive or use machines until you know how it affects you.
