Brivaracetam Desitin is a medicine that helps reduce seizures in people with epilepsy.
Your doctor will tell you your exact dose. Take it twice a day, about 12 hours apart. For adults and children weighing 50 kg or more, the usual dose is 25-100 mg twice a day. For children weighing 20-50 kg, it's 0.5-2 mg per kg twice a day. For children weighing 10-20 kg, it's 0.5-2.5 mg per kg twice a day.
Take the tablets by mouth, with or without food. Swallow them whole with a glass of water. If you have 100 mg tablets, they have a cross-score and can be divided into four equal doses; swallow the whole or divided tablets with water.
The maximum daily dose is usually 200 mg. For people with liver problems, the maximum daily dose is lower, up to 150 mg per day for adults (75 mg twice daily). For children with liver problems, it is also lower and based on their weight.
