How to Use

Dosage

Use Bricanyl Turbuhaler only when needed, not regularly.

Method

Hold the inhaler upright, twist the blue grip back and forth until it clicks to load a dose. Breathe out gently, then place the mouthpiece in your mouth, seal your lips, and inhale deeply and strongly. Remove from mouth and breathe out gently. Rinse your mouth with water afterwards.

Important

Always follow your doctor's instructions for the maximum daily dose and never take more than prescribed.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Tremor
  • Headache
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat fast or hard)
  • Muscle cramps
  • Low blood potassium levels
RARE
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Reduced blood flow to the heart (myocardial ischemia)
  • Nausea (feeling sick)
  • Sleep and behavioral disturbances (such as agitation, hyperactivity, restlessness, disturbed sleep)
  • Bronchospasm (sudden narrowing of airways causing wheezing)
  • Hives (itchy rash)
  • Rash
  • Chest pain (related to heart problems like angina)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to terbutaline sulfate or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor about any health problems you have, especially heart conditions, irregular heartbeat, angina, diabetes, or overactive thyroid.
  • Inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter ones, as some medicines (like beta-blockers) can affect Bricanyl Turbuhaler or your blood salt balance.
  • If you are having surgery that requires anesthesia, tell your doctor that you are using Bricanyl Turbuhaler.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

  • This medicine contains lactose, which is a type of sugar. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, talk to your doctor. It may also contain small amounts of milk protein, which can cause allergic reactions in sensitive patients.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if your asthma symptoms (like cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, or chest tightness) get worse, or if breathing problems make it hard to talk, eat, or sleep.
  • Always rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after using Bricanyl Turbuhaler, if possible, to reduce the risk of side effects.
