How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose based on your body size; the usual starting dose is 1.3 mg/m² given twice a week.

Method

The medicine is given as an injection, either directly into a vein or under the skin in your thigh or stomach, by a doctor or nurse.

Important

Treatment typically lasts for several cycles, usually up to 8 cycles or 24 weeks.

COMMON
  • Numbness, tingling, or pain in hands and feet.
  • Low red blood cells (anemia).
  • Low white blood cells.
  • Low platelets.
  • Fever.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to bortezomib or any other ingredient.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have a serious lung or heart disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had low red or white blood cell counts or low platelet counts, as you will need regular blood tests.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diarrhea, constipation, nausea, or vomiting.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had fainting spells, dizziness, or feel lightheaded.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had numbness, tingling, or pain in your hands or feet (nerve problems).

  • Tell your doctor if you have symptoms like muscle cramps, confusion, or vision problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have memory, thinking, or walking difficulties, or vision loss.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had a hepatitis infection or suspect you have one now.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and use birth control during treatment and for 3 months after.
  • Do not drive or use machines if this medicine makes you tired, dizzy, or affects your vision.
