Bonjesta is used to treat nausea and vomiting in pregnant women when diet changes or other non-medical treatments haven't worked.

How to Use

Dosage

Start with 1 tablet at bedtime. If symptoms continue after day 2, take 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at bedtime.

Method

Take Bonjesta on an empty stomach. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablets.

Important

Do not take more than 2 tablets (40 mg/40 mg) per day.

  • Confusion, disorientation, anxiety, nightmares, trouble sleeping
  • Eye problems (e.g., blurry or double vision, glaucoma)
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Dizziness when standing up quickly
  • Nausea, vomiting (if new or worsening symptom)
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight or skin reactions (itching, rash, excessive sweating)
  • Swelling in arms and legs, weakness, general unwell feeling
  • Tremors, seizures, agitation, restlessness, constant urge to move
  • Blood problems (like anemia)
  • Allergic reactions
  • Headache, migraine
  • Tingling or numbness in skin
  • Vertigo (spinning sensation)
  • Breathing difficulties, chest discomfort, fast or pounding heartbeat
  • Stomach problems (bloating, pain, constipation, diarrhea)
  • Difficulty or pain when urinating

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if allergic to doxylamine succinate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, any other antihistamine, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are taking or have taken antidepressants called MAO inhibitors in the last 14 days.
  • Do not take if you have porphyria (a rare metabolic disorder).
  • This medicine can make you drowsy. Do not drive, cycle, or use machines until you know how it affects you and your doctor has approved it.
  • Do not drink alcohol with this medicine, as it can increase drowsiness and the risk of falls.

  • Avoid taking this medicine with cough or cold medicines, sleeping pills, or certain pain relievers, as this can cause severe drowsiness and increase the risk of falls.
  • If you are breastfeeding, discuss with your doctor whether to stop breastfeeding or the medicine, as it can pass into breast milk and harm your baby.
  • This medicine can make you more sensitive to sunlight, so avoid sun exposure during treatment.
  • This medicine can increase dehydration and cause heat stroke as it may reduce sweating.
  • This medicine can cause false positive results in some drug screening tests (for methadone, opiates, PCP).
  • This medicine can affect allergy test results. Stop taking it several days before an allergy test.
  • This medicine is for you only. Do not give it to others, even if they have similar symptoms.
