  • Seek immediate medical help if you have trouble breathing, swallowing, or speaking; hives; swelling of your face or throat; wheezing; dizziness; or shortness of breath. These could be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • If the medicine spreads beyond the injection site, you might experience muscle weakness, trouble swallowing, or food/liquid accidentally entering your airways (which can lead to lung infection).
  • Tell your doctor if you have any bleeding disorders, take blood thinners, have severe muscle weakness or wasting, have ALS, have other nerve-muscle problems, have had trouble swallowing, have had issues with botulinum toxin injections before, or are planning surgery.
