Bisoprolol Sandoz is a heart medication, part of a group called beta-blockers, used to treat high blood pressure, angina, and heart failure.
For high blood pressure or angina, the usual dose is 5-10 mg once daily. For heart failure, the dose is gradually increased from 1.25 mg up to a maximum of 10 mg once daily.
Take the tablets in the morning with water, with or after a meal. Do not chew or crush the tablets.
The maximum daily dose is 20 mg for high blood pressure or angina, and 10 mg for heart failure or severe kidney/liver impairment.
Suitable for older adults. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia and orthostatic hypotension. Consider interactions , especially with drugs affecting the conduction system of the heart. (updated 20.1.2025)
