Bisoprolol Sandoz is a medicine called a beta-blocker that helps your heart work less hard. It is used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain (angina), and heart failure.
For high blood pressure or angina, adults usually take 10 mg once a day, but your doctor might start you with 5 mg. For heart failure, the dose is slowly increased, starting from 1.25 mg daily.
Take this medicine in the morning, with or without food. Swallow the tablet(s) whole with water. Do not chew or crush them.
The highest daily dose is usually 20 mg for high blood pressure or angina, and 10 mg for heart failure or severe kidney/liver problems.
Suitable for older adults. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia and orthostatic hypotension. Consider interactions , especially with drugs affecting the conduction system of the heart. (updated 20.1.2025)
