How to Use

Dosage

Start with a low dose, usually 1.25 mg once daily for a week, then your doctor will gradually increase it.

Method

Take the tablet whole with water in the morning, with or without food. Do not chew or crush it. The tablet can be divided.

Important

The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling tired, weak, dizzy, or having a headache.
  • Cold or numb hands or feet.
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Stomach problems like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.
  • Slow heart rate.
  • Worsening heart failure.
RARE
  • Sleep problems.
  • Depression.
  • Dizziness when standing up.
  • Breathing difficulties (if you have asthma or chronic lung disease).
  • Muscle weakness or cramps.
  • Slow or irregular heart rate.
  • Hearing problems.
  • Allergic runny nose.
  • Dry eyes (reduced tear flow).
  • Liver inflammation, which can cause yellow skin or eyes.
  • Abnormal results in blood tests for liver function or fat levels.
  • Allergic reactions like itching, redness, or rash. Seek immediate medical help for severe reactions like swelling of the face, neck, tongue, mouth, throat, or breathing difficulties.
  • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Fainting or loss of consciousness.
  • Nightmares or hallucinations.
  • Red and irritated eyes (conjunctivitis).
  • Hair loss.
  • New or worsened scaly skin rash (psoriasis) or psoriasis-like rash.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bisoprolol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe asthma.
  • Do not use if you have severe circulation problems in your arms or legs (like Raynaud's syndrome).
  • Do not use if you have an untreated adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma).
  • Do not use if you have too much acid in your blood (metabolic acidosis).

  • Do not use if you have acute heart failure.
  • Do not use if your heart failure is getting worse and needs intravenous medicine to make your heart pump stronger.
  • Do not use if you have a very slow heart rate.
  • Do not use if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you have certain heart conditions that cause a very slow or irregular heartbeat.
  • Do not use if you have cardiogenic shock (a severe heart condition that leads to very low blood pressure and circulation problems).
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes.
  • Tell your doctor if you are strictly fasting.
  • Tell your doctor if you have certain heart diseases, like rhythm disorders or severe chest pain at rest.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have mild circulation problems in your limbs.
  • Tell your doctor if you have chronic lung disease or mild asthma.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of scaly skin rash (psoriasis).
  • Tell your doctor if you have a thyroid disorder.
  • Tell your doctor if you are undergoing desensitization therapy (e.g., for hay fever), as this medicine may increase the risk or worsen allergic reactions.
  • Tell your doctor if you are going to have an operation that requires anesthesia, as this medicine can affect your body's reaction to it.
  • Immediately tell your doctor if you get new breathing problems, cough, or wheezing after exercise while taking this medicine, especially if you have chronic lung disease or mild asthma.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia and orthostatic hypotension. Consider interactions , especially with drugs affecting the conduction system of the heart. (updated 20.1.2025)
