How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose, starting with a low dose and gradually increasing it.

Method

Take the tablet in the morning with water, before, during, or after breakfast. Do not chew or crush it, but the tablet can be divided.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 10 mg once a day.

Possible Side Effects

  • Slow heart rate
  • Worsening heart failure
  • Feeling tired, weak, dizzy, or having a headache
  • Coldness or numbness in your hands or feet
  • Low blood pressure
  • Stomach or bowel problems like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation
RARE
  • Sleep problems
  • Depression
  • Dizziness when standing up
  • Breathing difficulties in patients with asthma or chronic lung disease
  • Muscle weakness and cramps
  • Slow or irregular heart rhythm
  • Hearing problems
  • Allergic runny nose
  • Reduced tear production (dry eyes)
  • Liver inflammation, which can cause yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes
  • Abnormal results in some blood tests for liver function or fat levels
  • Allergic reactions like itching, redness, or rash. Seek immediate medical attention if severe.
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Nightmares, hallucinations
  • Fainting
  • Eye irritation and redness (conjunctivitis)
  • Hair loss
  • Onset or worsening of psoriasis (a skin disease); psoriasis-like rash

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to bisoprolol or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have severe asthma or severe chronic lung disease.
  • Do not take if you have severe circulation problems in your limbs (e.g., Raynaud's syndrome).
  • Do not take if you have an untreated adrenal gland tumor (phaeochromocytoma).
  • Do not take if you have metabolic acidosis (too much acid in your blood).

  • Do not take if you have acute heart failure, worsening heart failure requiring IV treatment, very slow heart rate, very low blood pressure, or cardiogenic shock.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have diabetes, are fasting, have certain heart conditions (e.g., arrhythmias, Prinzmetal's angina), kidney or liver problems, mild to moderate circulation problems, mild to moderate asthma or chronic lung disease, psoriasis, adrenal gland tumor, or thyroid problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you are starting allergy treatment or need surgery with anesthesia, as this medicine can affect how your body reacts.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you develop new breathing difficulties, cough, or wheezing during treatment.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol consumption, as it can increase the blood pressure-lowering effect and cause dizziness. Avoid alcohol entirely if it makes you feel more dizzy or faint.
  • This medicine may harm an unborn child. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant.
  • Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Bisoprolol Orion.
  • This medicine may affect your ability to drive or use machines, especially at the start of treatment, when the dose changes, or with alcohol.
