How to Use

Dosage

For high blood pressure and chest pain, the usual dose is 10 mg once daily. For stable chronic heart failure, treatment starts with a low dose and is gradually increased by your doctor, typically up to 10 mg once daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water in the morning, with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Important

The maximum daily dose should not exceed 20 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fatigue, weakness, dizziness, headache
  • Cold or numb feeling in hands or feet
  • Low blood pressure
  • Stomach or digestive problems, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Slow heart rate
  • Worsening of heart failure
RARE
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Depression
  • Dizziness when standing up
  • Breathing difficulties in patients with asthma or chronic lung disease
  • Muscle weakness, muscle cramps
  • Slow or irregular heart rhythm
  • Hearing problems
  • Allergic rhinitis (runny nose due to allergy)
  • Reduced tear flow (dry eyes)
  • Liver inflammation, which can cause yellowing of the skin or eyes
  • Abnormal blood test results for liver function or fat levels
  • Allergic skin reactions such as itching, redness, or rash
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Nightmares, hallucinations
  • Fainting
  • Eye irritation and redness (conjunctivitis)
  • Hair loss
  • New or worsening scaly skin rash (psoriasis-like rash)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Bisoprolol Krka if you are allergic to bisoprolol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe asthma.
  • Do not take if you have severe circulation problems in your limbs (like Raynaud's syndrome), which can cause tingling or make your fingers and toes turn pale or blue.
  • Do not take if you have an untreated phaeochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal gland).
  • Do not take if you have metabolic acidosis (a condition where your blood is too acidic).

  • Do not take if you have acute heart failure or worsening heart failure that requires medicines injected into a vein to increase heart strength.
  • Do not take if you have very low blood pressure.
  • Do not take if you have certain heart conditions that cause a very slow or irregular heartbeat.
  • Do not take if you have cardiogenic shock (a severe heart condition that causes very low blood pressure and circulatory collapse).

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia and orthostatic hypotension. Consider interactions , especially with drugs affecting the conduction system of the heart. (updated 20.1.2025)
