This medicine helps slow your heart rate and makes your heart pump blood more efficiently; it is used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain, and stable long-term heart failure.
Your doctor will determine your dose. The typical dose is 10 mg once daily, but it can be adjusted between 5 mg and 20 mg depending on your condition.
Take the tablet whole with water in the morning, with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg.
Suitable for older adults. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia and orthostatic hypotension. Consider interactions , especially with drugs affecting the conduction system of the heart. (updated 20.1.2025)
