How to Use

Dosage

One drop once a day in each eye that needs treatment.

Method

Wash your hands, tilt your head back, and gently pull down your lower eyelid to form a pocket. Squeeze one drop into the eye, then close your eye and press on the inner corner near your nose for two minutes.

Important

Do not use more than one drop per day in each affected eye.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Redness of the eyes
  • Changes around the eye area, such as thinning of fat pads, sunken eyes, drooping eyelids, tightening of skin, or the white part of the eye becoming more visible
  • Stinging in the eyes
  • Itching in the eyes
  • Prickling sensation in the eyes
  • Irritation of the transparent layer of the eye (conjunctiva)
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Eye pain, watery or dry eyes, feeling of something in the eye
  • Small scratches on the surface of the eye, with or without swelling
  • Blurry vision
  • Redness and itching of the eyelids
  • Hair growth around the eyes
  • Darkening of the eyelids
  • Darkening of the skin around the eyes
  • Longer eyelashes
  • Eye irritation
  • Watery eyes
  • Swollen eyelids
  • Reduced vision
  • Runny nose
  • Headache
RARE
  • Abnormal feeling in the eye
  • Swelling of the iris (the colored part of the eye)
  • Swelling of the transparent layer of the eye (conjunctiva)
  • Eyelid pain
  • Tired eyes
  • Eyelashes growing inwards
  • Darkening of the iris (the colored part of the eye)
  • Eyelid pulling away from the eye surface, making it difficult to close completely
  • Darkening of eyelashes
  • Shortness of breath
  • Swelling in the back of the eye (macula), which can cause blurry vision
  • Eye swelling
  • Breathing difficulties or wheezing
  • Symptoms of allergic reactions (swelling, red eyes, or skin rash)
  • Changes in how things taste
  • Dizziness
  • Slow heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Nightmares
  • Asthma
  • Hair loss
  • Skin discoloration around the eye
  • Feeling very tired
  • Low blood sugar
  • Depression, memory loss, or seeing/hearing things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Fainting, stroke, reduced blood flow to the brain, or worsening muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis)
  • Reduced feeling on the surface of the eye
  • Double vision
  • Inflammation of the eye surface
  • Bleeding in the back of the eye
  • Inflammation inside the eye
  • Increased blinking
  • Fluid buildup in the body
  • Chest pain
  • Swollen or cold hands and feet due to narrowed blood vessels
  • Cough, worsening of asthma, or worsening of severe lung disease (COPD)
  • Diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, or dry mouth
  • Red, scaly patches on the skin or rash
  • Muscle pain
  • Reduced sex drive or sexual problems
  • Weakness
  • Changes in liver test results
  • Cloudy spots on the clear front part of the eye (cornea) due to calcium buildup (very rare)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bimatoprost, timolol, beta-blockers, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have or have had breathing problems like asthma or severe lung disease that can cause wheezing, trouble breathing, or a cough.
  • Do not use if you have heart problems such as a slow heartbeat, heart block, or heart failure.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had other heart problems like chest pain, shortness of breath, or low blood pressure.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, as this medicine can hide symptoms of low blood sugar.

  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. This medicine can be absorbed by and change the color of soft contact lenses.
  • This medicine may cause blurry vision. Do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Start and continue therapy under supervision by an ophthalmologist. Consider systemic adverse effects. Consider potential interactions. (updated 4.12.2023)
