How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Try to take your medicine at about the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Rash
  • Breast swelling and tenderness
  • Breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia)
  • Weakness
  • Hot flushes
  • Nausea
  • Itching
  • Dry skin
  • Difficulty getting an erection
  • Weight gain
  • Decreased sex drive and reduced fertility
  • Hair loss
  • Increased hair growth
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia), which may cause tiredness and paleness
  • Decreased appetite
  • Depression
  • Drowsiness
  • Indigestion
  • Dizziness
  • Constipation
  • Chest pain
  • Swelling (general)
  • Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice), which may be a sign of liver problems
  • Stomach pain
  • Blood in urine
RARE
  • Allergic reactions with sudden rash, itching, hives
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or other parts of the body
  • Shortness of breath, wheezing, or difficulty breathing
  • Severe breathing difficulties or worsening shortness of breath, possibly with cough and fever (signs of a lung inflammation called interstitial lung disease)
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to bicalutamide or any of its other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are already taking terfenadine or astemizole for allergies, or cisapride for heartburn or reflux disease.
  • This medicine is for men only. Women should not take it.
  • Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition, such as an irregular heartbeat, or if you are taking medicines for it, as this medicine may increase the risk of heart rhythm problems.

  • Tell your doctor if you have liver disease. Your doctor may need to do blood tests to check how well your liver is working.
  • Avoid strong, direct sunlight or UV light exposure while taking this medicine.
