How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet (50 mg). Do not take more than this.

  • Abdominal pain
  • Blood in urine
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Dizziness
  • Constipation

  • Breast swelling and tenderness
  • Breast enlargement in men
  • Hot flushes

  • Low red blood cell count (anemia), which can cause tiredness and paleness
  • Decreased appetite

  • Indigestion/Stomach problems
  • Gas
  • Hair loss
  • Increased hair growth
  • Dry skin
  • Itching
  • Rash
  • Erection problems
  • Weight gain
  • Chest pain
  • Heart problems
  • Heart attack
RARE
  • Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or other body parts, shortness of breath, wheezing, or difficulty breathing.
  • Severe breathing problems or quickly worsening shortness of breath, possibly with cough and fever (signs of a lung inflammation called interstitial lung disease).
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Changes in heart rhythm (shown on an ECG).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bicalutamide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are taking certain medicines for allergies (terfenadine, astemizole) or heartburn/reflux (cisapride).
  • This medicine is not for women.
  • Do not give this medicine to children or young people under 18 years old.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart problems, especially an irregular heartbeat, or if you are taking medicine for it.

  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems. Your doctor might do blood tests to check your liver.
  • If you have diabetes, your blood sugar levels might change. Your diabetes medicine dose might need adjusting.
  • Avoid strong sunlight or UV light while taking this medicine.
  • If you are lactose intolerant, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • If this medicine makes you feel sleepy, do not drive or use machines until you've talked to your doctor.
