How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, ideally at the same time each day.

Important

One tablet. Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Rash
  • Breast swelling and tenderness
  • Weakness
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice), which can be a sign of liver problems
  • Abdominal pain
  • Blood in urine
  • Hot flushes
  • Nausea
  • Itching
  • Dry skin
  • Erectile dysfunction (difficulty getting an erection)
  • Weight gain
  • Decreased sex drive and reduced fertility
  • Hair loss
  • Hair regrowth or increased hair growth
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia), causing tiredness and paleness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Depression
  • Drowsiness
  • Indigestion
  • Dizziness
  • Constipation
  • Flatulence
  • Chest pain
  • Swelling
RARE
  • Allergic reactions: sudden rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or other parts of the body, shortness of breath, wheezing or trouble breathing.
  • Severe or worsening shortness of breath, possibly with cough or high fever, which could be a sign of lung inflammation.
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight.
  • Changes in heart's electrical activity (prolonged QT interval on ECG).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to bicalutamide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • This medicine is not for women.
  • Do not take if you are already taking medicines for heartburn (cisapride) or allergies (terfenadine, astemizole).
  • This medicine should not be given to children.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as blood tests may be needed before and during treatment.

  • Inform your doctor if you have heart or blood vessel problems, including heart rhythm issues, as this medicine might increase the risk.
  • If you are taking this medicine, you and your partner must use contraception during treatment and for 130 days after stopping it.
  • If you go to the hospital, tell the medical staff that you are taking this medicine.
  • Avoid strong sunlight or UV light while taking this medicine.
