How to Use

Dosage

One 50 mg tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with liquid, either with or without food, always at the same time each day (morning or evening).

Important

A maximum of one 50 mg tablet per day.

COMMON
  • Anemia (low red blood cells)
  • Dizziness
  • Breast enlargement, breast tenderness
  • Hot flashes
  • Abdominal pain, nausea, constipation

  • Hair loss, rash, itching, sweating, increased body hair, dry skin

  • Drowsiness, insomnia
  • Heart attack, heart failure
  • Liver damage, increased liver enzymes
  • Erectile dysfunction, impotence
  • General pain, pelvic pain, chest pain, feeling cold
RARE
  • Severe breathing difficulties, possibly with fever and cough, indicating a lung infection (interstitial lung disease).
  • Severe itching with blisters, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat causing difficulty swallowing.
  • Blood in urine (serious).
  • Stomach pain (serious).
  • Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice).
  • Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity), including swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (angioedema), difficulty breathing or swallowing, hives.
  • Increased blood sugar, weight loss.
  • Lung disease, shortness of breath.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Need to urinate at night.
  • Headache, back pain, neck pain.
  • Vomiting.
  • Liver failure.
  • Sun sensitivity reactions.
  • Heart rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias), changes in ECG (prolonged QT interval), abnormal heart tracing.
  • Decreased number of platelets.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to bicalutamide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are using certain antihistamines (like terfenadine or astemizole) or the stomach medicine cisapride.
  • This medicine should not be given to women or children.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a liver disease.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart problems, including irregular heartbeat, or if you are taking medicines for heart conditions, as Bicalutamid Orion can increase the risk of heart rhythm problems.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have diabetes.
  • Talk to your doctor if you are taking other medicines, especially blood thinners or medicines that prevent blood clotting.
  • If you are taking Bicalutamid Orion, you and/or your partner must use contraception during treatment and for 130 days after stopping the medicine. Discuss birth control with your doctor if you have questions.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so be careful when driving or operating machines.
  • Avoid strong sunlight or UV light while taking this medicine.
  • This medicine contains lactose. If you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
