How to Use

Dosage

Apply the solution 1-2 times a day; your doctor may suggest using it less often as your skin improves.

Method

Ensure your hair is dry before applying the solution to your scalp; open the bottle, gently squeeze a small amount onto the affected area, and you can rub it in or let it dry.

Important

Do not exceed 1-2 applications per day unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Possible Side Effects

  • Itchy skin
  • Local burning sensation or pain
RARE
  • Weight gain or increased body weight
  • Round or 'moon-like' face
  • Thinning, wrinkling, or dryness of skin, stretch marks, visible tiny blood vessels, or changes in skin color
  • Increased body hair growth, hair loss, or damaged hair
  • Allergic reactions in the treated area (e.g., redness, irritation, worsening of eczema, rash, hives, or skin infection)
  • Pustular psoriasis (pus-filled blisters under the skin) if you have psoriasis
  • In children: delayed weight gain or slowed growth
  • Changes in blood tests or during medical check-ups, such as lower cortisol levels, higher blood sugar, high blood pressure, clouding of the eye lens (cataracts), increased eye pressure (glaucoma), or bone weakening (osteoporosis)
  • Blurred vision

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to betamethasone or any other ingredient.
  • Do not use for scalp infections or on children under 1 year old; consult a doctor for children under 12-15 years.
  • If your skin condition does not improve within 2-3 weeks, contact your doctor.
  • Do not cover the treated scalp with bandages unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or any other eye problems.

  • Betnovat Scalp is flammable, so avoid smoking and open flames while applying it and immediately afterwards.
  • If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using this medicine; do not apply to breasts if breastfeeding.
  • Do not use more than prescribed. If you accidentally swallow a large amount, rinse your mouth well and contact a doctor or pharmacist.
  • If you use this medicine regularly, talk to your doctor before you stop treatment.
  • Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you are taking, especially ritonavir and itraconazole.
