How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 16 mg three times a day. Your doctor may reduce your dose to 8 mg three times a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Take it with or after food to help prevent stomach problems. If you take more than one tablet a day, spread them evenly throughout the day (e.g., one in the morning, one at midday, and one in the evening). Try to take them at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than 48 mg per day.

  • Nausea
  • Indigestion (upset stomach)
  • Headache
RARE
  • Red or lumpy rash, or itchy and inflamed skin
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or neck
  • Rapid drop in blood pressure
  • Unconsciousness
  • Breathing difficulties

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to betahistine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have high blood pressure caused by a tumour on your adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma).
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have a stomach ulcer.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have asthma.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have hives, rash, or allergic rhinitis (hay fever), as these conditions might worsen.

  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have low blood pressure.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant unless your doctor says it's absolutely necessary.
  • Do not breastfeed while using this medicine unless your doctor allows it.
  • This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to lack of data on safety and efficacy.
