How to Use

Dosage

The daily dose is 24–48 mg, divided into two or three doses.

Method

Take tablets with or after a meal, swallowing them with a little water. The 16 mg tablet can be divided; the score line on the 24 mg tablet is only to help you swallow it whole, not to divide it into equal doses.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 48 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON

RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions like rash, trouble breathing, low blood pressure, or fainting.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, or tongue.
  • Mild stomach upset (like vomiting, stomach pain, bloating).
  • Drowsiness.
  • Skin allergic reactions (like hives, rash, and itching).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to betahistine dihydrochloride or any other ingredient, or if you have a specific adrenal gland tumor (phaeochromocytoma).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had a stomach ulcer.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have asthma.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have hives, rash, or allergic rhinitis (hay fever).
