How to Use

Dosage

The usual daily dose is 24–48 mg, divided into 2–3 doses per day.

Method

Take the tablets with or right after a meal. Swallow them with water. The 16 mg tablet can be divided in half, but the score on the 24 mg tablet is only to help you swallow it whole, not to divide it into equal doses.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 48 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea
  • Indigestion
  • Headache
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions such as rash, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure or fainting.
  • Swelling of the face, lips or tongue (angioedema).
  • Mild stomach problems like vomiting, stomach pain, or bloating, which can often be eased by taking the medicine with food.
  • Drowsiness.
  • Skin reactions such as hives, rash, or itching.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to betahistine dihydrochloride or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have a tumor of the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had a stomach ulcer.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have asthma.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have hives, rash, allergic rhinitis, or very low blood pressure.
