How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine the exact dose of Bendamustine Avansor based on your body size and condition.

Method

This medicine is given as a fast infusion into a vein over 30 to 60 minutes.

Important

The maximum daily dose and total number of treatment cycles will be determined by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low blood cell counts (white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets), increasing risk of infections, anemia, or bleeding.
  • Infections.
  • Headache.
  • Nausea and vomiting.
  • Inflammation of mucous membranes (e.g., mouth sores).
  • Increased kidney waste products (creatinine, urea) in the blood.
  • Fever.
  • Fatigue.
  • Bleeding.
  • Changes in body chemistry due to rapid breakdown of cancer cells (tumor lysis syndrome).
  • Anemia (low red blood cells causing paleness, weakness, shortness of breath).
  • Allergic reactions such as skin rash (dermatitis) and itchy hives (urticaria).
  • Increased liver enzyme levels (ASAT/ALAT, AFOS) which may indicate liver inflammation or damage.
  • Increased bilirubin (a substance from the breakdown of red blood cells).
  • Low potassium levels in the blood.
  • Heart problems like palpitations, chest pain, or irregular heartbeats.
  • Low or high blood pressure.
  • Breathing problems.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Constipation.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Hair loss.
  • Skin changes.
  • Missed menstrual periods.
  • Pain.
  • Insomnia.
  • Dizziness.
  • Chills.
  • Dehydration.
RARE
  • Problems with bone marrow (myelodysplastic syndrome), leading to poor blood cell production or acute leukemia.
  • Fluid around the heart, heart attack, or heart failure.
  • Blood poisoning (sepsis).
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) or symptoms similar to anaphylaxis.
  • Drowsiness.
  • Hoarseness or loss of voice.
  • Sudden circulatory collapse (heart-related, affecting oxygen and nutrient supply).
  • Skin redness, various rashes (dermatitis, maculopapular), hives, or heavy sweating.
  • Atypical pneumonia.
  • Breakdown of red blood cells.
  • Sudden drop in blood pressure with skin reactions (anaphylactic shock).
  • Taste and sensation disorders.
  • Damage to peripheral nerves (discomfort and pain in limbs).
  • Nervous system disorders, including a severe condition affecting nerve receptors (anticholinergic syndrome), coordination problems (ataxia), or brain inflammation (encephalitis).
  • Rapid heart rate (tachycardia).
  • Vein inflammation (phlebitis).
  • Lung scarring (pulmonary fibrosis).
  • Esophageal or gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Infertility (inability to have children).
  • Multiple organ failure.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bendamustine hydrochloride or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you are breastfeeding. You must stop breastfeeding if treatment is necessary.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems or yellowing of the skin/eyes due to liver or blood issues.
  • Do not use if your bone marrow is severely suppressed or if your white blood cell or platelet counts are very low.
  • Do not use if you have had major surgery within the last 30 days.

  • Do not use if you have an infection, especially with low white blood cell counts, or if you have received a yellow fever vaccine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, such as heart attacks or chest pain.
  • Tell your doctor if you feel very sick or vomit. Your doctor can prescribe medicine to help.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have side pain, blood in your urine, or less urine, as this could be a serious problem (tumor lysis syndrome).
  • Tell your doctor if you develop any skin rash, redness, or blistering, especially if it spreads or affects your mouth/lips.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling or difficulty breathing.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience memory loss, trouble thinking, difficulty walking, or vision loss, as these could be signs of a rare, serious brain infection (PML).
  • Contact your doctor if you notice any suspicious skin changes, as there might be an increased risk of certain skin cancers.
