Befoair

Befoair is an inhaler containing two active substances, a corticosteroid to reduce inflammation and a bronchodilator to relax airway muscles, making breathing easier and preventing asthma symptoms.

How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is 2 inhalations twice a day.

Method

This medicine is for inhalation; breathe it in through your mouth.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 4 inhalations.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fungal infections (in mouth and throat)

  • Palpitations, unusually fast heart rate and heart rhythm disorders
  • Changes in electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Increased blood pressure

  • Sinus inflammation
  • Runny nose
  • Ear infection
  • Throat irritation
  • Cough and productive cough
  • Asthma attack
  • Vaginal fungal infections
  • Nausea
  • Abnormalities or weakening of taste sensation
  • Burning sensation in the lips
  • Dry mouth
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Digestive disorders
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Diarrhea
  • Muscle pain and muscle cramps
  • Redness of the face and throat
  • Increased blood flow to certain body tissues
  • Excessive sweating
  • Tremor
  • Restlessness
  • Dizziness
  • Hives or nettle rash
  • Decrease in white blood cell count
  • Increase in platelet count
  • Decrease in blood potassium levels
  • Increase in blood sugar levels
  • Increase in insulin, free fatty acid, and ketone levels in blood
  • Tightness in the chest
  • Feeling of missed heartbeats (due to premature ventricular contractions)
  • Decreased blood pressure
  • Kidney inflammation
  • Swelling of the skin and mucous membranes lasting several days
  • Shortness of breath
  • Worsening of asthma
  • Decrease in platelet count
  • Swelling of hands and feet
  • Blurred vision
  • Sleep problems
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Nervousness
  • Feeling very agitated or irritable

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to beclometasone dipropionate, formoterol fumarate dihydrate, or any other ingredients.
  • Always carry your fast-acting rescue inhaler for sudden asthma symptoms.
  • If your breathing worsens right after using the inhaler, stop using Befoair and contact a doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have an allergic reaction, such as skin rash, itching, redness, swelling of the skin or mucous membranes (especially eyes, face, lips, throat).
  • Do not increase your dose without talking to your doctor first.

  • This medicine should not be used by children or adolescents under 18 years old.
  • Do not use this medicine if more than 3 months have passed since you received the inhaler from the pharmacy, or after the expiry date printed on the carton and label.
  • The container is pressurized. Do not expose it to temperatures above 50°C and do not puncture it.
  • Do not stop using Befoair or reduce your dose even if you feel better, unless advised by your doctor.
