Befoair is an inhaler that contains two medicines to help you breathe easier by reducing swelling and relaxing the airways, treating and preventing symptoms of asthma and COPD.

How to Use

Dosage

Take 1 to 2 inhalations (puffs) twice a day, usually in the morning and evening, as prescribed by your doctor.

Method

Inhale the medicine through your mouth directly into your lungs. Follow the detailed instructions on how to use your inhaler correctly.

Important

Do not take more than 8 inhalations (puffs) in a single day.

  • Fungal infections (thrush) in the mouth and throat
  • Headache
  • Hoarseness
  • Sore throat
  • Palpitations (fast or strong heartbeat), unusual fast heartbeat, and irregular heartbeats
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Sinus inflammation
  • Runny nose
  • Ear infection
  • Throat irritation
  • Cough with mucus
  • Asthma attack
  • Vaginal yeast infections
  • Nausea
  • Changes in taste or loss of taste
  • Burning sensation on lips
  • Dry mouth
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Indigestion
  • Stomach ache
  • Diarrhea
  • Muscle pain and cramps
  • Redness of the face and throat
  • Excessive sweating
  • Tremor
  • Restlessness
  • Dizziness
  • Hives or nettle rash
  • Decrease in white blood cells
  • Increase in platelets
  • Decrease in blood potassium levels
  • Increase in blood sugar levels
  • High levels of insulin, free fatty acids, and ketones in blood
  • Pneumonia (lung infection), especially in COPD patients. Watch for fever, increased cough, more mucus, or worsening breathing.
RARE
  • Chest tightness
  • Feeling of missed heartbeats (premature ventricular contractions)
  • Decreased blood pressure
  • Kidney inflammation
  • Swelling of skin and mucous membranes lasting several days
  • Shortness of breath
  • Worsening of asthma
  • Decrease in platelets
  • Swelling of hands and feet

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to beclometasone dipropionate, formoterol fumarate dihydrate, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If your breathing suddenly gets worse or you start wheezing right after using Befoair, stop using it immediately, use your fast-acting reliever inhaler, and contact your doctor right away.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you have an allergic reaction, such as itchy skin, rash, redness, or swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or throat.
  • This medicine should not be used by children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Do not use Befoair if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, unless your doctor tells you to.

  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems (like chest pain, a recent heart attack, heart failure, or irregular heartbeats) or high blood pressure.
  • If you have diabetes, this medicine might make your blood sugar levels go up. Your doctor may need to check your blood sugar more often when you start using it.
  • It is very important to use Befoair regularly, even if you are not having symptoms. Do not stop without talking to your doctor.
