How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take. Usually, it's 1-2 puffs, 2-4 times a day. For adults, the starting dose is usually 400-1600 micrograms daily. For children (6-12 years), it's 400-800 micrograms daily.

Method

Use your Easyhaler inhaler by following these three steps: Shake it 3-5 times, then click it once to load a dose, and finally, breathe the powder deeply into your lungs through the mouthpiece.

Important

Do not take more than your doctor has prescribed. The usual maximum starting daily dose for adults is 1600 micrograms, but your doctor may adjust this.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Sore throat, throat irritation, hoarseness, cough.
  • Fungal infection (thrush) in the mouth or throat.
RARE
  • Sudden shortness of breath, wheezing, or difficulty breathing right after taking the medicine. If this happens, stop using the medicine and seek immediate medical help.
  • Severe allergic reaction with itching, rash, redness of skin, swelling of eyelids, lips, face or throat, low blood pressure, or fainting. If this happens, stop using the medicine and seek immediate medical help.
  • Reduced function of the adrenal glands.
  • Growth problems in children and teenagers.
  • Abnormally high levels of cortisol hormone in the body (Cushing's syndrome or similar symptoms).
  • Hyperactivity, sleep problems, nervousness, depression, aggression, or changes in behavior (these are most common in children).
  • Eye problems (such as cataracts or glaucoma), blurred vision.
  • Eosinophilic pneumonia (a type of lung inflammation).
  • Easy bruising.
  • Thinning skin.
  • Reduced bone density (osteoporosis).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to beclometasone or any other ingredients like lactose (which contains small amounts of milk protein).
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have lung tuberculosis, or an untreated bacterial, viral, or fungal infection in your mouth, airways, or eyes.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other sight problems.
  • This medicine does not stop an asthma attack that has already started. Always carry your fast-acting reliever medicine for sudden asthma symptoms.
  • Contact your doctor right away if your asthma symptoms worsen during treatment (e.g., increased wheezing or shortness of breath, needing your reliever medicine more often, or if your reliever medicine doesn't work as well).

  • Do not stop using this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor first, as your asthma may get worse.
  • Rinse your mouth well with water after each dose and spit it out. This helps prevent side effects like sore throat and fungal infections.
