How to Use

Dosage

Typically, take 1-2 doses by inhalation 2-4 times a day.

Method

Inhale the powder into your lungs using the inhaler's mouthpiece. Follow the 'Shake-Click-Inhale' steps carefully.

Important

Adults: up to 1600 micrograms daily. Children 6-12 years: up to 800 micrograms daily. Your doctor may adjust your dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Sore throat
  • Irritation in the throat
  • Hoarse voice
  • Cough
  • Fungal infection (thrush) in the mouth or throat
RARE
  • Sudden shortness of breath or wheezing immediately after taking the dose. If this happens, stop the medicine and seek urgent medical help.
  • Severe allergic reaction (signs include itching, rash, red skin, swollen eyelids/lips/face/throat, low blood pressure or collapse)
  • Problems with adrenal glands (which make hormones)
  • Slower growth in children and teenagers
  • High levels of a hormone called cortisol in the body (Cushing's syndrome or similar symptoms)
  • Hyperactivity, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, aggression, or behavior changes (more common in children)
  • Eye problems (like cataracts or glaucoma) or blurred vision
  • Eosinophilic pneumonia (a type of lung inflammation)
  • Easy bruising
  • Thinning of the skin
  • Decrease in bone mineral density (weak bones)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to beclometasone or any other ingredient, including lactose.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have tuberculosis or an untreated infection (bacterial, viral, or fungal) in your mouth, airways, or eyes.
  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other eye problems.
  • This medicine does not stop a sudden asthma attack. Always carry your fast-acting asthma reliever medicine with you.
  • See your doctor immediately if your asthma symptoms worsen, such as increased wheezing, shortness of breath, needing your reliever medicine more often, or if your reliever medicine doesn't work as well.

  • Do not stop using this medicine without talking to your doctor first. Stopping suddenly can make your asthma worse.
  • Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each dose to help prevent side effects like sore throat and oral thrush. Do not swallow the rinse water.
