How to Use

Dosage

Apply the ointment twice a day.

Method

Place a small amount (about the size of a match head) on a cotton swab. Apply it to the front inside of both nostrils. Pinch your nostrils together and gently rub to spread the ointment. Wash your hands before and after use. Do not mix the ointment with other creams.

Important

Do not use the ointment more than twice a day. If you use too much, wipe away the excess.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Runny nose.
  • Itching, redness, burning, or stinging sensation in the nose.
RARE
  • Itching, redness, or stinging sensation on the skin.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to mupirocin or any other ingredient in this medicine. Talk to your doctor first.
  • This medicine can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. If you get a skin reaction, stop using it and contact your doctor right away.
  • Be careful not to get the ointment in your eyes. If it gets in your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water.
  • Use the entire course of treatment, even if you feel better. Do not stop using it earlier than advised by your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines you are using, including over-the-counter ones.

  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience a severe allergic reaction: itchy rash, swelling of the face or mouth, difficulty breathing, or fainting. Stop using the medicine.
  • Rarely, this medicine can cause severe gut inflammation. Contact your doctor immediately if you have diarrhea (bloody or slimy), stomach pain, or fever.
